Because of this design's effortless and contemporary appeal, it quickly became one of my favorite.
A timeless idea with a modern touch, through details like: the oversized sleeves, the tailored vent in the back, slit neckline and intentional length.
The sleeves are the most important detail. The voluminous sleeves, when left unravelled at their ¾ length give interesting proportions, with an almost kimono-like gracefulness, yet everything changes once the sleeves are rolled and snatched with a roll tab on the shoulders, changing the proportions into a sleek hourglass shape. It's this versatility in design that we love to achieve.
The tunic-like structure of the dress gives it simplicity, while the choice of cotton poplin and tie sash in the waist gives casually draped lines.
The finishing touches: cord belt loops, tailored vent in the back, in-seam pockets, elegant, wide, folded hemline, choice of natural buttons- may seam unnoticeable, but they give a special appeal.
The fabric is an amazing cotton poplin which gives this garment what it needs to have this relaxed, lightweight yet beautiful draping effect.
